The new generation of Novopress press tools are fitted with Bluetooth technology, to allow suitable devices to connect with the tool to read and report a range of information including the press cycle count, press force graphs, basic diagnosis and tool settings. This is the next step in quality control for installers – when combined with suitable installation practices, the access to this data forms a professional and quantifiable record of press performance providing confidence in the system for all levels of a project and identify possible issues before the system is commissioned.

Download the free NovoPress app on Google Play (Android devices) or the App Store (Apple devices) to to access the Bluetooth features of compatable Novopress press tools.

A guide is available for the ability of the NovoCheck app in our AusPress Tech Note TN.12 NovoCheck App (Quick Guide).

Maintenance & Servicing

Keep your press tool running well.

All press tools, press heads including jaws, rings and collars, require regular user maintenance.

  • When the tool reaches it’s nominated press cycle count, it is recommended to have the tool serviced at an Authorised Service Centre for cleaning, calibration, lubrication and checking the press performance.
  • When press heads show signs of wear, damage or age, these too are recommended to be inspected by an Authorised Service Centre as it can effect the integrity of the press formed if damaged.

It is worth noting:

  • Press jaws and collars have a lifespan and are considered a replaceable component. Their life can be extended by reducing wear by lubricating the press surface with Inox spray or similar non-oil based product, keeping the jaws dry to avoid rust forming, and cleaning after use and returning to suitable storage case.
  • AusPress recommends applying a suitable lubricant to the press surface of jaws and collars to aid with the press. Why? The tools apply some 32 tonnes of pressure on a 28mm fitting to form the permanent shaped joint, and a light application of Inox or similar reduces jaw/collar wear, reduces material binding and substantially reduces pinching. We teach this, and have for over 15 years, as part of our AusPress tool training to site installers.
  • Once the press surface of a jaw or collar is damaged or worn, it needs assessing. It will continue to worsen and underperform each addition press and is often seen when lubricating the press surface is not completed.
